I'd say yes for the most part. Not every comic or manga or whatever is a masterpiece, but I do consider them to be valid forms of literature, sometimes with really amazing narratives....

There's no way a manga can be considered to be a literary work. Kind of depends on your current level of education.. I can see it being ok if you were in elementary or middle school but definitively not high school or college level. It's essentially a comic and you wouldn't use a comic as a literary work.
